Head Barista
Seeking a qualified Head Barista to join our team. This Head Barista will oversee and manage all aspects of coffee and barista staff in our thirty five in accordance with the vision and mission of Kronotrop. The Head Barista works directly with the food and beverage manager Additionally, the Head Barista will be closely involved in the development and evolution of the Kronotrop in collaboration with the operations director and general manager. This head barista will train directly with Kronotrop's upper level training program.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assume responsibility for all aspects of the coffee production. • Be capable of completing and overseeing all daily operations of the coffee bars at all locations. • Oversee all barista employees, including: hiring and terminations, performance and pay reviews, job descriptions and responsibilities, training and continuing education, discipline and commendation. • Management of baristas: customer service, preparation and presentation of beverages and information, operational procedures, merchandising. • Management of back of house operations: Scheduling, product R&D , order management , and sales and profitability contribute ideas as far as operational flow. • Be “on-call” with the responsibility to respond to problems or fill-in when needed. • Cultivate a professional, friendly, efficient work environment • Lead barista meetings
Additional responsibilities include: • Proactive training staff to maintain and uphold all company and coffee shop policies. • Actively work toward creating a superlative café experience through: customer service, beverage preparation and presentation, in-store marketing, and upkeep of the physical space • Ensure all projects and responsibilities are completed in a timely, efficient manner • Handle customer complaints with professionalism and tact • Schedule: create the schedule, manage time off requests, ensure the coffee bar is properly staffed • Proactively solve problems and make decisions that benefit the café and company at large
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE • Excellent communication and teaching skills Infectious love of coffee. • Ability to keep a calm, mature, professional demeanor when at all times • Proactive approach to problem-solving and staff management • A high degree of ethics and obsession with customer service Excellent time management skills and ability to self-direct when necessary • High level of organization • Adaptability and the ability to creatively troubleshoot difficult situations • Superior leadership capabilities; ability to work well within groups • At least 5 years of experience in specialty coffee and the coffee industry • Focused perspective on what a high-functioning coffee bar looks like and how to execute that perspective • A passion for small business and quality products • Be a model barista, both as far as bar skills, customer service and enthusiasm to share knowledge • Detail-oriented • Previous management experience.
